Holidays in Rovereto

Rovereto is a lively town with 33,000 inhabitants, situated in the Trentino region, Northern Italy’s most famous tourist area.
The main cultural attraction in Rovereto is undoubtedly the new MART, Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, designed by Architect Mario Botta, located only 10 minutes in walking distance from our Hotel.

The historical centre with its Venetian layout is very well preserved and its lanes remind one of the Venetian Calles – ideal for a romantic stroll.

The Venetian Castle in Rovereto is the fascinating venue for the Italian War History Museum that has one of the most important collection of weapons in Italy.
The Civic Museum is home to botanical, naturalistic, and mineralogical collections. The collection of artefacts from Magna Grecia donated to his native city by archaeologist Paolo Orsi is particularly interesting.
Also worth a visit are the monumental Peace Bell, the military Sacrarium in Castel Dante, and the fascinating San Colombano Hermitage.

Numerous shows are held in Rovereto during the year, that include some of the better known Festivals like “Oriente Occidente” (contemporary dance), Mozart Festival (music by Mozart), and the International Archaeological Film Festival, as well as an important Festival held at Easter.

There are very many interesting events in Rovereto, write us and we’ll send you a calendar for the period you are interested in.

The area around Rovereto is very interesting. On the right bank of the Adige viticulture reigns supreme, with some of the best cellars in Trentino. The Altopiano di Folgaria with its ever more popular ski slopes is just 20 minutes away. Lake Garda is 16 km away. The Altopiano di Brentonico is a destination for naturalists from all over the world. Then there is Val di Gresta, known for its organic agriculture.

Many centres can be reached by bicycle. Rovereto has a cycling path that starts from the historical centre and goes all the way to Trento, Bolzano and Riva del Garda.
